DIM, or diindolylmethane, is a natural compound found in cruciferous vegetables that promotes beneficial estrogen metabolism in both women and men. Cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, and Brussels sprouts are rich in diindolylmethane. DIM affects estrogen metabolism by promoting the excretion of xenoestrogens, which are “bad estrogens” we encounter through pesticides in our diet and from pollution in the environment.
DIM is increasing in popularity as a natural therapy due to medical research showing its positive effects on aberrant cells and healthy estrogen metabolism. Scientists at UC Berkeley discovered that DIM is also a potent modulator of the immune system. DIM, combined with the medicinal mushrooms in nutraceutical formulas like BreastDefend® and ProstaCaid®, act together to enhance and support the immune system.*
BreastDefend® contains a proprietary blend of protective nutrients, including quercetin, turmeric rhizome extract (BCM-95®; 95% curcumin), Astragalus membranaceus root extract, Scutellaria barbata herb extract, and
an advanced formulation of DIM (3,3′- diindolylmethane). EcoNugenics utilizes the most advanced form of DIM, providing 100 mg in BreastDefend®. DIM has been researched for its ability to promote cellular health, and support healthy estrogen metabolism. The formula is completed by the addition of three powerful, botanically enhanced medicinal mushrooms (Coriolus, Reishi, and Phellinus linteus) for comprehensive immune support.*
Prostacaid® also contains DIM for supporting cellular health and hormone balance. ProstaCaid® is an innovative nutraceutical supplement for promoting and maintaining prostate health. The supplement contains 33 scientifically researched nutrients, minerals, and botanicals from both traditional herbal medicine and modern western medicine, including 150mg of DIM (3,3′-diindolylmethane). By modulating estrogen metabolism, DIM helps to balance critical estrogen-testosterone ratios in the body. Immune function is further supported by the addition of medicinal mushrooms Coriolus, Reishi, and Phellinus linteus, cultivated on botanically-enhanced organic brown rice.*

I have been taking Breast Defend, 10 Mushroom Formula and MCP Powder.
Are all 3 products necessary – there is some overlap – mushrooms in Breast Defend eg….
Appreciate the guiudance
Thanks
Kate
Hi Kate,
It all depends on what are the purposes you taking these supplements for. MCP has no overlap with any of the ones you taking, it is used for general cellular health. The mushrooms in BreastDefend were grown in brown bed of brown rice and other botanical, since mushrooms tend to absorb a lot of the environment they grow on, these are specifically optimized for breast health. While 10 Mushroom is grown organically and is optimized for long-term immune support. As you can see, although there may be some overlap on ingredients they are of different composition so they can fill their specific purpose.
Best.
