Vitamin B6 is important for producing melatonin, our master sleep hormone. Chickpeas, the main ingredient in this hummus, are a good source of B6. Combined with basil, a mild relaxer, this recipe makes a nice sleep enhancing snack.

SERVES 1

1 400g tin chickpeas, drained
Juice of ½ lemon
4 tablespoons olive oil
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 bunch fresh basil, leaves torn
Sea salt and black pepper

Place all the ingredients in a blender or food processor, season with salt and pepper and blend into a thick, luscious dip.

Great recipe. I have plenty of basil and am always looking for new recipes that include it.
My other recipe for Hummus includes Curcuma, which is so good for us and tasty as well.
