Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 3 slices fresh ginger, cut 1/4-inch thick
  • 1 inch piece licorice root
  • 1 1/2 inches piece cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tablespoon grated orange-zest
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley (or 2-3 tablespoon fresh)
  • 1 clove

Directions

  1. Place the pieces of ginger and the licorice root in a saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat; add all remaining ingredients.
